Since 2015 RefreshRD, LLC has been committed to supporting every dietitian in preparing and passing all necessary exams to progress with their career. We believe that with the right preparation, they can successfully achieve their career goals.

I'm Ilene Cohen, Owner/Founder & CEO of RefreshRD™, a boutique tutoring and test preparation service for dietitians, and I'm so glad that you landed on my site! Over the past five years, I've created and refined The KEY Strategy™, a method that combines methodical critical thinking, knowledge, and application to enable individuals to successfully tackle multiple choice exam questions. I have taught my method to hundreds of dietitian students and have a network of expert RDN tutors who collectively specialize in all domains of the RD exam. I then provide continuing education opportunities in unique and needed areas that are less abundant in the field of dietetics, such as career development, entrepreneurship, marketing, and foreign language instruction.

By providing students with knowledge, accountability, strategy, and engagement, we empower them to acquire knowledge and understanding through mnemonics and to be fully engaged with homework and signature resources. From student to registered dietitian, we help our clients to jumpstart and advance their careers.

Using an exclusive network of experienced specialty registered dietitian tutors, we collectively prepare our students for all the exams in the dietitian field. Our instructors and tutors have experience in areas including diabetes, renal, nutrition support, foodservice, management, business, school foodservice, and research.

All of our tutors are CURRENTLY practicing in the field of nutrition & dietetics, which makes our teaching real, authentic and up-to-date!

We keep our group classes small (under 20 students) so that each student gets individualized attention. We know of all our students by name - with us you're not just a number!

For every new challenge an dietitian faces, we offer a solution. First, we help you succeed at passing the RD Exam, then assist you in landing your dream job and then help you position yourself for your dream career, then gain the certifications you need to advance....and the list goes on and on! If you become an RD through working with us- that's great! But it doesn't stop there. We provide expert training and test preparation on speciality board certifications (more on this coming soon!)

Ilene also offers tutoring in Spanish for Spanish speaking dietitians preparing for the RD exam whose first language is not English. Ilene is fluent in Spanish with her Cuban family background and extensive study of Spanish academically and continued work with Spanish speaking patients.

The majority of our students are female. According to CDR, 90.6% of RDs are female and only 3.8% of RDs are male (1).

We know you're probably wondering about our pass rates, so we're ready to tell you! Our pass rates far exceed the national average, especially for repeat test takers, with scores to date ranging from 25 to 39 and point increases ranging from 1 to 8.
