Ilene is a highly experienced Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, IAYT-certified yoga therapist, yoga teacher, owner of PranaSpirit Nutrition & Wellness and founder of RefreshRD. Ilene provides a host of medical nutrition therapies addressing a variety of conditions across the lifecycle, including Diabetes, Gastrointestinal Disorders and Prenatal care.  As a yoga teacher, she offers customized private and group yoga classes.  By combining Western and Eastern modalities, she offers a truly holistic, individualized and self-empowered approach to attaining optimal health and vitality.

Ilene wanted a career where she could help others, and found it in her passion for living a healthy, zestful and balanced life. She believes that nutrition is vital to our life as what we eat and drink plays an integral role in being the healthiest we can be. Ilene practices what she preaches, as she truly loves eating healthy foods and has experienced the benefits of good nutrition, so it is intuitive to her to help others have a healthy meal plan.  In offering nutrition, yoga and other wellness services, Ilene works with each person using a customized approach that takes into account their tastes, medical history and current health condition, and genetics, while incorporating healthy foods and activities that clients already love.  

Ilene has years of experience, training and education which fuels her passion for passing this onto others. Ilene holds a Master of Science degree in Clinical Nutrition from New York University. She completed her dietetic internship at the Bronx Veteran's Affairs Medical Center. Ilene worked as a Senior Clinical Dietitian at the Mount Sinai Medical Center, where she conducted diabetes education classes, worked with an endocrinologist supervised weight loss program, and supervised dietetic interns. She then worked as the lead diabetes educator at Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center. She has done consulting as a nutritionist for major companies like Bayer, and insulin pump trainings for Animas and Medtronic.  In addition to her NYC based private practice, Ilene is currently a New York State Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics Media spokesperson and has been featured as a RDN and yoga teacher in Self Magazine and Yoga Journal.



Kimberly is a Registered Dietitian and Nutrition Consultant at Nutritious Lifestyles in Cleveland Ohio. Kimberly completed her Master's degree in Human nutrition at the prestigious Case Western Reserve University with a focus on research processes and applications. Kimberly is a member of the honor society at CWRU and completed her Dietetic internship at the second oldest Dietetic Internship program in the nation; University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. Kimberly is excited to be part of the RefreshRD team and has a passion for helping others pass the RD exam using strategy methods versus strictly memorization. Kimberly is working to eventually receive her CNSC credential and become a certified nutrition support clinician.



Jenn is a Registered Dietitian in the DC Metro Area. She completed her Master’s degree in Public Health with an emphasis in Community Health from West Chester University of Pennsylvania and her dietetic internship with Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Dietetic Internship Program. Her passions in the field are related to childhood obesity prevention and wellness throughout communities. Jenn is excited to be part of the RefreshRD team, and is thrilled to be mentoring nutrition professionals to pass the RD exam! Jenn is working to eventually receive her certificate as a School Nutrition Specialist (SNS) and Certified Culinary Medicine Specialist (CCMS).



Jenna is a Registered Dietitian working in an outpatient setting in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Jenna has a passion for helping others and understands the energy put into reaching the goal of becoming a Registered Dietitian. She offers the balance of a warm and supportive tutoring style to move her students out of their comfort zone while feeling safe and inspired. She holds two undergraduate degrees, one in Community Nutrition and the other in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of North Dakota. Jenna's eventual goal is to pursue the credential of Integrative and Functional Nutrition Certified Practitioner (IFNCP).



Denise is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) in Phoenix, Arizona. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics from Rutgers University School of Health Professions in New Jersey. Denise has spent the past 12 years working in the hospital setting for Banner Health Systems as a Registered Dietetic Technician (DTR). She has vast experience working in the clinical setting providing Medical Nutrition Therapy and specializes in providing MNT education to patients in the cardiology unit of a heart hospital.

Denise has been a preceptor for dietetic students and enjoys mentoring and guiding them through the process of becoming a DTR. She will continue her RDN career with Chandler-Gilbert Community College as adjunct faculty teaching the MNT DTR clinical rotation class this spring.

Denise understands how daunting the study experience can be. She can assist students in strengthening weak areas of knowledge and help them feel comfortable and confident during exam time. Denise is passionate about helping students reach their goals of becoming an RDN by guiding them through dynamic and supportive tutoring.




Based in Nashville, Tennessee, Karman specializes in recipe development, nutrition communications and public speaking and is the creator behind The Nutrition Adventure. Her recipes have been featured in Food & Nutrition Magazine, Men's Fitness, Food Network's Healthy Eats, Greatist, and Shape. Karman is passionate about sharing food and nutrition facts and enjoys empowering people to feel more confident about getting into the kitchen. 

With 15 years of experience in the food industry, Karman has worked in nearly every position in a food service operation, including management. Her professional affiliations include: member of the Nutrition Entrepreneurs dietetic practice group and Food & Culinary Professionals dietetic practice group; member of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics, Tennessee Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics, and Nashville Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics. 


Jordan is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) and a New York State Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist (CDN). She received her Masters of Science with an emphasis on Medical Nutrition Therapy and Clinical Nutrition from Lehman College. She has spent the past 3 years working in long-term care in Rockland New York. She has vast experience working in clinical and food service roles within a long-term care setting. With a passion for always expanding her knowledge she is currently pursuing her Integrative and Functional Nutrition Care Practitioner Certification. Her professional affiliations include: member of the Nutrition Entrepreneurs dietetic practice group and Dietitians in Functional Nutrition dietetic practice group; member of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics, Greater New York Dietetic Association and Westchester Rockland Dietetic Association.



Elysa is a nutrition and food policy expert with more than 16 years of experience in the industry. For the past 8 ½ years Elysa was the Director of Nutrition at the NYC Department for the Aging, where she oversaw meal programming at 300 senior centers and home delivered meal programs citywide. Prior to city government, Elysa worked at various organizations, such as St Luke’s Hospital, Plus God’s Love We Deliver, and Plus One Health Management. 

Throughout her career Elysa has worked with dozens of students. She enjoys teaching, mentoring, and guiding students through the process of becoming an RD. Elysa is a Registered Dietitian, Certified Dietitian Nutritionist, and Certified LEAP Therapist. She received her bachelor’s degree in nutrition from Syracuse University and a Master’s in Public Administration at Baruch College. 



Valerie is a Registered Dietitian and Nutrition Instructor at El Camino Compton College. She partners with several non-profits in efforts to incorporate nutrition education in elementary schools. Valerie is a passionate nutrition advocate and motivational speaker often conducting nutrition workshops within the community. Valerie has a research background in Food Science and Nutrition which initiated her career focus: Implementing nutrition as a science in primary and secondary education and eventually as an essential component of the curriculum of other health professionals. Currently, Valerie has 2 children and lives in Carson, CA. 



Kristen is a current graduate student at the University of Connecticut with a Master's in Health Promotion Sciences. Her current research is in weight loss management. In the near future she would like to begin the process of completing a Ph.D. Kristen fell in love with research during her coordinated program when she sought after an opportunity to observe an Oncology Research RD at Yale's Survivorship Clinic. Once she entered graduate school, she had the opportunity to teach undergraduates and found her passion for teaching and lecturing. From then on she has been a teaching assistant every semester and couldn't be happier! 

Kristen hopes that through her future research she can investigate and determine the best intervention to helping those who are low income and chronically obese. She strives to also teach one day in academia and to inspire students to become future RDNs! She is excited to be a part of the RefreshRD tutoring team sharing her expertise in research to help students apply it to the RD exam. 



With her expertise in graphic design and eye for color, Kaylee is the heart behind the handouts at RefreshRD. Kaylee has been interested in design from a very young age. She hopes to utilize these visuals to help students engage different senses when looking to extend their knowledge in the field of Nutrition and Dietetics. 

Kaylee has previous experience in the food service industry and continues to broaden her skills through her current position. Through different internship experiences during her undergraduate career, Kaylee was able to gain experience working with people with developmental disabilities through a greenhouse project and continued to explore the community nutrition field while working with a local food resource center. Lastly, she was able to dive into the clinical field while working with outpatient dietitians through the IU Health network and inpatient dietitians at the Psychiatric Hospital. She continued on to explore the field of nutrition further through her Dietetic internship and fell in love with Geriatric Nutrition. She is now a Registered Dietitian in the Long Term Care Setting.

With her background and vast skillset she has achieved, Kaylee hopes to bring a new focus to her area, through a blend of both clinical and community nutrition.



Jessica L. Meister, Psy.D. is a clinical neuropsychologist who specializes in providing assessment and advocacy for children, adolescents, and young adults with learning and attentional difficulties. Dr. Meister has also worked extensively with individuals presenting with self-esteem issues and anxiety symptoms, including providing evidence-based interventions for learning disorders, Selective Mutism, and performance anxiety. 

Dr. Meister graduated from Emory University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Spanish. She subsequently obtained her Doctorate in School-Clinical Child Psychology from the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology of Yeshiva University. Dr. Meister completed her postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology at the Center for Attention and Learning at Lenox Hill Hospital – Northwell Health.

She currently practices privately in New York City and has a dual-appointment within the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Irving Medical Center. She is devoted to education and mentoring, consulting with professionals, teaching doctoral students, and supervising postdoctoral fellows. Dr. Meister is dedicated to developing strong therapeutic relationships with her clients and promoting the implementation of appropriate interventions in order to effect positive future outcomes.

Outside of the office, Dr. Meister is passionate about health and wellness, particularly with regard to the relationship between physical and mental health, and enjoys dancing, yoga, and fitness.
